Pune Okayama Friendship Garden - Pu La Deshpande Udyan
The Pune Okayama Friendship Garden is based on one of the major gardens of Japan i.e. " The Korakuen Garden " in Okayama City, Japan. They are known for their elegant naturalism and charm. This Japanese garden has been named after Pu. La. Deshpande. Pu. La. Deshpande was a well known Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. He was popularly known by his initials ("Pu. La.").
The Pune Okayama Friendship Garden is spread over 10 acres representing the culture & intricate ideologies of an authentic Japanese Garden. The garden is perfect bridge between the two cities of Okayama and Pune, encouraging cultural, traditional, economical, industrial & friendship ties.
Path-ways are made having shaped bamboo barricades on both sides with bridges on water-beds. An Artificial lake is also there along with variety of flora. You can see lot of bright orange fish in the Lake. Feeding to these fishes is stickily not allowed. It is a small garden which is clean and very well maintained. Landscaping is well maintained and there are small shelters and benches to sit and rest. No food or drink is allowed, but you can carry drinking water with you. Paid parking space is available outside the garden. Lot of film shooting is done in this garden. This garden is best place for photography.

From 6:00 am - 11:00 am and From 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Rs. 5/- Per Person (For Adults and children 3 years above)

This garden is crowded on weekends and holidays. Best time to visit the garden is at Evenings. This garden brings us close to the nature, revitalize our senses and rejuvenate them spiritually. A must recommendation for all nature lovers.
